Deadlines for financial aid
The deadline for submitting a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) (the financial aid application) for the Preschool is April, 2023. Based on the information you provide to SSS, they will make a recommendation to the Financial Aid Committee as to your specific needs. Financial aid awards are distributed on a rolling basis. All inquiries and applications for financial aid are held in the strictest confidence between SSS and the Financial Aid Office. No information is released to any person beyond those staff members directly involved in distributing and accounting for financial aid.
Process for applying for financial aid
In the past we have used a tuition management company called TADS for application for financial aid. For the 2023-2024 school year we will be using SSS (School and Student Services) to apply for financial aid. SSS is an offshoot of TADS and should look quite familiar to you. All families need to re-apply every year for financial aid.
to complete the SSS Parent Financial Statement (PFS) which is your financial aid application. There is a processing fee of $55 per family. We partner with the Bryn Athyn Church (elementary school) and the Academy of the New Church High School (ANC) in using SSS. For families with children at the Preschool, BACS and/or ANC, information and the fee will be shared with all three schools.
The SSS code for Bryn Athyn Church School is 901 876. No need to memorize it, as you will be offered a place to look it up once you begin the application process.
The PFS is a comprehensive application that will take some time to complete. Give yourself the time you need by not waiting until our deadline approaches. You will need your most recent tax return before beginning the PFS. We also recommend reviewing the SSS resources to help families with the financial aid process.
Here are some helpful resources to better understand the financial aid process. You will find lots of helpful information regarding financial aid in general and specific help in filling out your PFS.
- A workbook and instruction booklet will help facilitate the financial aid application process. This workbook includes information, FAQ’s, and line-by-line instructions to help you prepare for and complete your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online in the SSS Family Portal.
- A shorter one-page flyer will also guide you through the process.
