Parent Evening about Sexual Abuse

January 25th, 7:00-9:00pm

BACS is currently working on making updates and changes to our Sexual Abuse Prevention Training and Education (SAPTE) curriculum. One of the steps which the faculty has taken through this process was to attend a program by the Darkness to Light organization. This organization’s mission is to end child sexual abuse by raising awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse, and educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse. The faculty thought that the program, while heart breaking, was well done and very informative, and that it would be useful to make it available for parents.

To this end we have invited a representative from Darkness to Light to give her presentation at BACS on January 25th from 7:00-9:00pm. The program will provide parents with information about the prevalence of child sexual abuse and discuss steps which can be taken to prevent it.

In order to make proper preparations it is useful to have a sense of the audience. If you are planning on attending this program, we ask that you let us know by completing the form found on the following link, D2L Program . However, if you do decide to attend at the last minute and did not let us know ahead of time, we will still be more than happy to have you.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
