This Week at BACS

handsThe Bryn Athyn Church School was not in session on Monday, January 16th in celebration of Martin Luther King Day.  Last Friday every class gave meaning to this holiday by observing Dr. King in some way.  Each grade’s focus was different as the teachers covered the life of Dr. King, the civil rights movement and important ideas such as: diversity, leadership, service, non-violence, equality, freedom and providence.  Earlier in the week the third through eighth grades completed our annual survey on bullying. This survey, which is part of our bully prevention program, allows us to get insight from the students about this important topic. While we hope that there is never bullying in our school, we are aware that there are times when our students stumble while learning how to interact with others. The information we get from the students on the survey can shine light on certain situations which need extra guidance, and can help direct future classroom meetings. Hopefully our students were able to spend some time this past week reflecting on how we should treat those around us both on the small and large scale.
