Swedenborg’s Birthday at BACS
January 29th was Emmanuel Swedenborg’s birthday. BACS has used this date to acknowledge Swedenborg in different ways over the years. This year in addition to a religious assembly put on by the 8th grade on Friday and the traditional Swedish flag topped treats, each class had a lesson dedicated to Swedenborg. Each grade’s lesson focused on a different aspect of Swedenborg’s life. Topics included his scientific work, his education, his childhood, and his travels. Our hope is that through all of this our students not only learned a bit more about Mr. Swedenborg as a person, but that they could also begin to see how a path was laid through Divine Providence preparing him to serve to the Lord in such an important way.
