Renewed Excitement About the Building

When I announced the new building plans to the students back in October there was a buzz of excitement throughout the student body. Since then the work on the project has almost exclusively been happening out of the students’ sight, and so the buzz has simmered down. Two events took place over the last week though that have gotten them talking again. Construction vehicles showed up on Wednesday to begin boring for soil samples. These are the first of many vehicles we will see over the next few years and they were the focus of some student attention. The second event was an opportunity for the students to have a hands-on experience in the capital campaign. A donor gifted each student with a small bank reminiscent of those used for the APB campaign generations ago. Students who wish to can use it to collect coins to contribute to the building fund. The hope is that this voluntary opportunity is a chance for the students to feel like a part of the project both now and for years to come. We are beginning some momentous years at BACS, and we hope that the students have fond memories about this exciting time.
