Preparing for a New Year

Last week the primary grades hosted open houses in their classrooms for their new students and their families. It was fun to have students back in the building even if it was just for a short visit. Teachers have been working hard preparing for the new school year. Desks have been arranged, bulletin boards set up and name tags are on the lockers. There has also been a series of meetings in the past week including a whole faculty professional development session on Signe Whitson’s book Eight Keys to End Bullying. All this preparation is useful but what we are all looking forward to is having all of our students back in our halls on Tuesday morning. They are, after all, the reason we are here.
