Blank Walls, Full Minds

Our hallways are full of blank walls. The bulletin boards have all been emptied. So have the lockers and the desks. The students have filled up grocery bags full of projects and supplies and left us for the summer. Think of all they carried with them as they left. Not just the items that were in that bag or the bursting backpack but all the memories, all the new friendships and, most importantly, all the things they have learned this year. Whether it was mastering letter and number formations in kindergarten or studying novels like Sense and Sensibility and Julius Caesar in 8th grade, or any of the countless units in the grades in between, our students rose to hundreds of academic challenges this year. It is impressive to see how much they grew in just nine months.

And now they are home, enjoying the summer break, hopefully feeling a sense of accomplishment for all they have taken away from the year. As for BACS, our walls are empty, but our hallways are full of teachers as we begin to prepare for next year’s journey. Thanks again for all of your support this year.
