BACS Workday a Big Success
The Spring 2014 BACS Workday was another smashing success, thanks to the many parents, students, community members, and teachers who showed up to lend a hand! The halls were filled with the happy sounds of people laughing together and offering help to one another. The snacks and lunch were delicious, as usual, thanks to the work of LynnEllen King, and several incredibly valuable jobs were accomplished, including:
- Painting the entire upper unit hallway and boys’ bathroom
- Beautifying the garden area behind the primary classrooms
- Installing windows in the doors of the pastors’ offices
- Clearing of roofs and gutters of debris
- Replacing wiring and bulbs throughout the school
- Replacing ceiling tiles in the science room
- Cleaning throughout school, including scrubbing trash cans, cleaning windows, scrubbing tables, and organizing basements
We counted about 60 adults and 30 working students (not counting the children who were being ably watched by our wonderful 8th grade students and Brianne Good). Special thanks goes out to our team leaders – Cameron Childs, Reuben Mergen, Russ Cooper, Chaz Grubb, Glen Henderson, and Bob Genzlinger. And an extra special thanks to the organizer of the day, Scott Nash! We sure couldn’t have done it without him. Also, thanks to Stewart Asplundh for work ahead of time to get work lists together and supplies collected, as well as answering multitudes of questions throughout the day on Saturday.
With Gratitude
