Activity Already

The classrooms are full of students and full of activity. Students have quickly settled in with their new teachers and are already busy at work on this year’s program. Novels have been started, math problems worked through and spelling words learned. I have even spotted the first crop of projects being hung on the bulletin boards. At this year’s school opening I challenged the students to be active participants in their school year rather than just spectators along for the ride. Sometimes it is easy to jump in, especially when you are feeling confident about the situation, but at  other times it can feel daunting. My hope is that all of our students feel they can be full participants. It is by being doers, that they can grow the most and that they can make the biggest positive impact on those around them. It is a joy to walk the halls and see all the activity already shaping the 2016-17 school year.
