Substitute Teachers

Teachers get sick, have family emergencies and attend professional development events. When these and similar occurrences arise, we call on substitute teachers. Substitute teachers are remarkably flexible, teaching various grade levels and subjects throughout the school. They are able to support another teacher’s teaching. They are also able to manage behavior of different aged students in different settings. And while often we know in advance when subs are needed, there are times when some are called into action at 6:30 in the morning or even in the middle of the school day. This past week several of our teachers were working with the General Church on curriculum. This meant there were as many as five subs in the building. We are fortunate to have a group of quality individuals who can serve the school in this important use. If you are interested in working as a substitute teacher at BACS, contact Kirsten Huff Kirsten.huff@bacs.org for more information.
