Summer Reading Program
One of the ways in which the library encourages reading is through its summer reading program. More than a hundred students participated in this program this year and they all were invited to celebrate their accomplishment this past week. Each of these students received a bookmark, a small prize and raffle tickets. There were 58 prizes to win in the raffle. These prizes, nicely wrapped, all included books, some with activities, stuffed animals, or gifts cards accompanying them. Those students who achieved their grade level goal will also receive a gift certificate for one free book at our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair, which runs from November 4th – 6th, is not only another way to showcase reading but it is also a great fundraiser. It provides hundreds of books to our classrooms and library and also supplies the rewards for the summer reading program. We hope to see you there.
