School Opening
The Bryn Athyn Church School opened our 122nd school year on Tuesday. After months of quiet preparation it was so nice to have students in our building again. In our opening worship service our school pastor, Solomon Keal, introduced this year’s theme, “Arise, and begin your journey.” Our chapel series this year will cover the books of Exodus through Deuteronomy. This theme fits nicely with these stories. It also easily connects with the students’ experience of travelling through a year of school. This week marks the beginning of the journey, a time to prepare, look ahead and take first steps. In 38 weeks the students will come to the end of their journeys, and it will be exciting to celebrate their accomplishments. But I am also looking forward to all the days between now and then. There are going to be a lot of memorable things that happen along the way.
