Patriotic Celebration

Family and friends of the primary unit attended our Patriotic Celebration on Friday morning.  This biannual event, which can be traced back to the Patriotic Banquets some of us remember as kids, is a special opportunity for our younger students to show their love and respect for our country.  The celebration included songs, poems and dramatic readings.  Students’ patriotic artwork also decorated the room.  It is an important part of our New Church curriculum that students are led to care for their country.  We are taught that love for our country is one of the highest forms of love of the neighbor.  Hopefully the students felt this love a little more strongly as they performed for us.  This event also provided a time for parents and grandparents to enjoy the talents of our primary students.   Thanks to all who were able to attend.
