Closure – Week 3

As BACS moves into our third week of our closure due to the COVID-19 virus, we are beginning a new version of our distance-learning program. Workload and expectations have increased as we work to convey the essential elements of our spring term curriculum. We have also moved all of our classes to one of two online platforms, SeeSaw or Google Classroom, depending on the grade level. Our hope is that this will better allow teachers and students to interact directly without so much reliance on the parents serving as go-betweens. We are aware of many challenges this experience has brought with it and appreciate people’s sense of understanding and cooperation. Vice-Principal Kirsten Huff and I spent time last week calling all of our families to check in. Talking to so many of them helped to build our sense of what all of this is looking like from the perspective of our parents and students.
