Class Parents at BACS

Last Friday was Swedenborg’s Birthday and, as is our tradition, after a special assembly, the students celebrated with a treat topped with a Swedish flag. While it seemed that these holiday goodies appeared in the classrooms as if by magic, they were, in fact, the work of our generous class parents. Each classroom has one or two parents who have volunteered to act as the official class parent, helping in a number of ways throughout the year. They arrange chaperones for trips, food for feasts, helpers for projects and so much more. As a classroom teacher I was keenly aware of how much easier the major events of the year were because of the class parents. Their work allows us to offer more of these events for our students. We are fortunate to have 24 volunteers this year and have had hundreds, perhaps many of you, serve this use throughout the years. It is one of the many ways we are supported by our families.
